RCCA Meeting held on February 20, 2013

Attendees: Diane Carlton, Doug Hobbs, Howard Birnie, James Chow, Kenn Harvey

Regrets: Linda Romito, Karin Normann

Karin cannot attend but she mentioned that the RCI website is almost ready so that the Alumni website can link into the RCI website. Karin also said thank you for the condolences.

Linda Romito stated that she is away but mentioned that the 1960's Reunion held September 15, 2012 was not as well attended so it may be awhile before another reunion is planned.

Natalie Homer was unable to attend but she will do one more newsletter, but we need to find another Editor.

Minutes were approved.


Janet Mason gave a donation and requested a book, which Diane delivered in person.

The secretary is getting alumni telephone messages and Howard will follow-up.

Diane received phone calls regarding how the scholarship is handled and will meet with the Bank Manager sometime in the future.

Principal's Report

Kenn mentioned that the school received $100,000 back in October from All State. The Student Council plans $25,000 for a Scholarship ($1,000/year), helping students on trip, science equipment, redo Student Council office. The Student Council has two years to spend the money.

No extracurricular activities since October due to the teacher situation. RCI has a new mascot - Pirate (the moose has retired).

Treasurer's Report

We have $ 9,048.68 as of December 31, 2012. This money helps in sending out the Newsletter. Possibility of having RCI students doing the Newsletter.

Seat Sale

Diane received notification from people that they didn't have seats and Diane did find their seats. Another lady claimed she donated for a seat, but it turned out that she didn't. Diane did receive two seats requests during the summer.

New Business

We need to find a new Newsletter Editor has Natalie is unable to continue due to work constraints.

Scholarship Banking - still need to meet with the Bank manager.
